What are you giving up for lent?

Giving up cake for Lent

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, 46 days before Easter Sunday. Lent is a time for Christians to prepare for Easter. It is an important time of reflection and preparation for celebrating Jesus’s resurrection at Easter time. During lent many people decide to give up something they love, like chocolate or crisps, or take up something helpful, like shopping for an elderly neighbour, reconnecting with an old friend or taking a family member out for a treat.

What are you doing to mark Lent? Maybe you’re giving up buying a morning coffee on the way to work, or that extra slice of cake. How about putting the money saved in a jar and donating it to Field Lane? Every donation, no matter the small, makes a big difference to the lives of our clients.

Can you help us make a difference?
