Supporting vulnerable families during lockdown

There has been an increase in domestic violence in the weeks since lockdown was introduced. Sixteen people were killed in the first three weeks, the highest number recorded in 11 years. During the same time, calls to the National Domestic Abuse Helpline run by Refuge was up 49 per cent. *

Staying home is essential to prevent coronavirus spreading, but for some people home isn't safe and it’s particularly worrying for children in these households.

Andrew Proven House, in London, offers a safe haven for vulnerable families, particularly women with young children. We offer these families, many of whom have suffered abuse, the chance to get back on their feet and live in a place that is both supportive and secure.

Each family is given their own flat and our team of staff is available around the clock, giving the families much-needed peace of mind.

We rely on the generosity of our supporters to help us continue to offer these vulnerable families a lifeline. As well as gifts of money, we are also grateful for gifts in kind, such as furniture, baby and toddler equipment, toys etc.
