Seeking sanctuary in the garden

Pictured: Ailsa Road's garden, where clients go to seek sanctuary

September is here and summer is over. However, residents at our Ailsa Road project are looking forward to getting out into the garden again when summer comes around next year. Thanks to a generous donation from the Charles S. French Charitable Trust, garden furniture at Ailsa Road will soon be getting a facelift.

The garden space is very important for the wellbeing of our clients. Especially during lockdown, when everyone has had to stay at home, the garden became even more of a sanctuary. Some of our clients have complex behavioural issues and being able to find a calm place to seek refuge is important. The garden spaces in our supported living projects are almost as important as the rooms inside the houses.
