The Surrey Community Fund buys sails for Wood Street's garden

The Community Foundation for Surrey has awarded our Wood Street project a grant to buy garden shade sails. With current lockdown restrictions, installation of the sails will be delayed but it is something to look forward to over the summer months.

Wood Street is home to six residents with a range of learning disabilities, including mental health issues, physical disability, epilepsy, autism and other challenging behaviours. In addition, some of the clients have conditions that make them particularly sensitive to being exposed to sunlight for any length of time.

The shade sails will play an important part in enhancing the living conditions for our clients, enabling them to use the garden without risk of harm from sunlight.
