A night to remember |
Dovers, a Field Lane care home in Reigate, transformed its day centre into a fine dining restaurant for a week. The restaurant offered a diverse choice of refined courses such as seared seasonal vegetable terrine and Confit of Stuffed Duck with vintage port jus and was staffed by our care and support team. Residents and families had the opportunity for a restaurant outing free of the stress, trauma and confusion often experienced when additional support is not available. A daughter emotionally said after the dinner, “The evening was very special as we have not eaten as a family since Mum was at home”. The initiative was recognised by the Journal of Dementia Care (Nov 06 issue). |
