Supporting adults with learning disabilities

Research from the NHS Health and Social Care Information Centre (2004) found that 40 percent of adults with learning disabilities would like more say in what goes on in their everyday life.
Field Lane's services for people with a learning disability promote independence and real choice. An overview of our guiding principles may be seen in our publication ‘Quality of Life First’.

Residential nursing care and supported housing schemes

Since 1993, we have been providing residential nursing and support for people with high level needs at our ‘Badgers’ home in Eastwood, Essex.

At our residential supported housing projects, intensive support is given to residents who have left larger institutions to lead a more independent life in the wider community. At present these services are located in Essex and Surrey.

All residents within the houses receive intensive support from our domiciliary care agency, Field Lane Care and Support Agency.

Social clubs for adults with learning disabilities

Since 2007, Field Lane has operated two weekly social clubs for adults with a wide range of learning disabilities. Café Dance in Southend, Essex and The Social Club, in Reigate, Surrey have proven to be very popular and boast over 180 members each. They are operated on a voluntary basis and service user’s choose club activities and help to run the clubs’ functions..
